Customer Rating: Summary: Easy to install Comment: There are alot of reviews concerning this product. I dont know what more I could add?
I knew nothing about a security system...But after an hour it was installed and actually works!
I highly recommend it.
Customer Rating: Summary: Skylink SC-100 Comment: Product works as advertised. Easy to install and setup. I brought this for my mother-in-law who is 75 years old, living alone in an apartment. Her apartment was broken into recently. The police officer who responded indicated that door hardware is good but the best deterrent was an alarm system and signs posted on the windows and doors. He suggested Radio Shack and several others but after reviewing the web, i decided to try the skylink system. It was really easy to setup and install. I setup and tested the system at my home first. Took us about 1 hour to get everything working. We brought the SC-100 system along with an extra keypad. Went over to my mother-in-law's apartment and installed one door alarm, two keypad and motion detector. It took me 3 hours from start to finish. She uses the remote to set the alarm and so far so good.
Customer Rating: Summary: Poor design and bad customer service Comment: I purchased one of skylink's products in December 2009. Bad design and Customer Service and repair facility was a real nightmare. Unless you want a HUGE LONGTERM headache avoid this company.
Customer Rating: Summary: Great and inexpansive alarm system Comment: I was looking for inexpansive but good alarm system that would protect my house when I am not around. I have checked many different options, I read the reviews on all kinda different systems and decided to get this one. Not to offend anyone, but this is by far the easiest system to program and install. I mean they go step by step on what to do and how to do it, you just can't go wrong. I don't see anyone not being able to get it all togiether, it is easy. The motion detectors are very sensitive and can go off the second you are in the view (from accross the living room) I am impressed. I don't have any false alarms. I have even bought more door/window sensors and one more motion sensor (total of 8 door/window sensors and 2 motion sensors) I was able to program them to the main unit and they work just fine. I strongly recommand this product.
Customer Rating: Summary: For the money it's major win, not epic but close. Comment: Great little system here. Installs easy and actually works. It's very expandable and easy to customize for your needs. A separate alarm unit is a must as well as a separate keypad. I have the main unit hidden in a spot that's not easy to get to. The 2nd alarm unit will go up in the attic. Only complaint is that the little button on the door sensor's transmitter can be activated accidentally and set the alarm off. I'll just have to work around that, I may just take the button out of the ones that can be hit by blinds, cats or whatever. I think the motion sensor isn't going to work for me because we have dogs. I may try some vibration sensors on the windows but I don't want any false alarms. This sure beats the contractual monitoring companies "solution" to home security. I don't think they offer much over this anyway, a dialer isn't worth much if your land line is cut. A cellular dialer would be great but that costs $$$. This is a only deterrent until something like that is available for this system. For what it costs and how well it works it's silly not to have one of these. 5 out of 5 because the value is unmatched.
